The scholarship is given to a Chatham High School Senior, who has shown exemplary community service above and beyond service performed for National Honor Society or for Key Club credit, etc. The recipient is chosen by the CHS Guidance Department from those students who apply for scholarship consideration. Applications are available in the CHS Guidance office. The winner is awarded at graduation.

2005 Scholarship
The Fishawack Festival Scholarship winner Kara Poggi of Chatham Borough was congratulated on her win as she said goodbye to her Crew Chief Celeste Fondaco and to Doug Purdy president of the Chatham Emergency Squad as she left for her freshman year at the University of Delaware. Kara was a member of the Squad Cadet program for the past 3 years and holds an EMT designation. She will return to the squad during college holidays. The Fishawack Scholarship is presented annually to the Chatham High School student who has exhibited exceptional volunteer service to her community.
